There’s something about being home that makes me feel like I’m 15 again – in the best way. Maybe it’s because the amount of time I spend at home each year is getting shorter and shorter, or maybe it’s because nothing has really changed since I was 15. Whatever the reason, there is nothing that makes me feel better than sleeping in my childhood bedroom, waking up early and having coffee with my mom, driving around in the old Jeep and seeing the sights I saw every day of my life until 4 years ago.
There’s something about graduating college in May that is making me sentimental and nostalgic. While I’m so excited, I’m also very sad. I’ve been working towards this day for almost my whole life; waiting patiently to be done with school forever. But now that it’s here…I wish I had more time. I wish I was a Junior in high school again, and all I had to worry about was what to wear the next day and what the math homework was.
But there’s something else that’s wonderful about my home. It will always be here for me when I need it. And with this tucked into my back pocket, I’m (almost) ready to start my forward journey into the “real world.”
