my nordstrom sale picks

the nordstrom anniversary sale is fun because of all the exclusive beauty items that come out.  from special palettes to well-priced sets, there are always things to drool over.  i don’t usually splurge on anything, but this year i got two items that i didn’t think i could miss out on.  bb nordstrom sale1.jpgthe nars hot escape eye & cheek palette, $49, was really the item that made me make a purchase.  it’s a beautifully cool-toned (FINALLY) palette with four eye shadows, one blush, and one highlighter.  the eye shadows are on the sheer side while still having a nice amount of pigment, making them perfect for every day while still being buildable and buttery.  the taupe is obviously my favorite of the bunch, but i appreciate having a matte beige and a darker shade for lining the eyes.  my darkest shade got a little smashed in transit, but not too much shadow is missing thankfully.  the blush is gorgeously neutral with a ton of pigment, so while i have to be careful with it, it’s great when applied lightly on my skin.  it perfectly enhances my summer tan.  and the highlighter, which i will probably use as an eye shadow, is a great light champagne that isn’t too yellow.  sabrina of the beauty lookbook had a great review on this here.bb nordstrom sale2.jpgthe hourglass ambient lighting blush palette ($65) is the same one they release every year, though they say the shade on the far left is an exclusive.  the shades are surreal glow, luminous flush, and mood exposure.  my surreal glow is very light even on my skin, so i’ve been mixing it with the other two or using it as a faux highlighter (i’m really not a powder highlighter girl).  i like the other two blushes so much that it is worth it to have the light one in the palette either way – again i’ll definitely use it as a soft eye shadow.  this was still in stock by the time of me writing this post, so i recommend checking it out if you like hourglass but don’t have any of their blushes.  mood exposure has always seemed too plummy to me, but it actually shows up quite warm and bronzey/neutral on the skin which is a great surprise. bb nordstrom sale3.jpgi don’t own very many palettes so it’s nice to add a couple to my little collection.  of course i by no means needed these items, but i can’t resist a special edition when i can really see myself loving the products.  of the two, definitely try to find the nars palette on ebay or the like if you are into cooler tones…they don’t come around too often these days!bb nordstrom sale4.jpg

the lazy girl’s guide to makeup

here on baby bohemian, i’m all about looking completely natural with a little oomph.  i’m about wearing makeup to make myself feel put together, while looking like i’m barely wearing any at all.  makeup is my me time, my hobby.  so here are my recommendations for a makeup bag that is perfect for the lazy girl, the makeup minimalist, the product junkie that doesn’t want to appear like a product junkie.  the products below could serve as a great beginner’s makeup bag or just nice products to have on hand.  with my upcoming travels, this will act as the former for me and i’m very pleased with the products that will be accompanying me on my journey…if i can keep it to just these…bb lazy girl2.jpg// skin & base //

hydrated, glowing skin is an absolute essential.  i like a very light, sheer base that evens things out ever so slightly, regardless of the condition my skin is in (currently: acne-ridden).  and to make a light base work the best, it’s all about what’s underneath.  for glowing, hydrated skin that isn’t shimmery or glittery, check out the bliss ex-glow-sion.  now this is a moisturizer more than a makeup product, so if you have dry skin like me i recommend you wear it more as a primer, but if you are on the oilier side you could use this just as your morning moisture layer.

as far as that sheer base goes, my current favorite is my tinted sunscreen, the clinique city block spf 25; a mineral spf with a perfect tint for my skintone.  this is a sunscreen with a tint, not a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen, so i feel really good wearing it and like the teeny bit of coverage it gives.bb lazy girl3.jpgundereye concealer is where i differ from many: i rarely wear it.  i like a hint of darkness under the eyes, but if i ever feel too dark i always reach for the glossier stretch concealer in light.  because this is a sheer, very emollient formula it looks incredibly natural while adding the bare minimum of brightness.  i don’t find that this creases or goes greasy on me, but i’ve heard from many that setting with a powder is required.  i personally like the hydration it gives, but this is all about personal preference of course!  i also love this for areas of the face that are a little more red or angry and need a bit more help; i just purchased the medium shade for my summer skin.

a high coverage concealer is also an essential, and the nars radiant creamy is second to none.  i’ve tried others that i’ve liked, but i always back to this.  for blemishes, this is a must have.  my trick is to let it set for a minute or two before patting it in – this gets the coverage just right.  i wear vanilla for most of the year and creme brulee in the summer.

// shade & highlight //

bronzer is a non-negotiable product for me.  even if i’m wearing absolutely no makeup whatsoever, i need a hint of bronzer to make me feel alive.  i’m fair, but feel like i apply bronzer in such a way that i never look orange or over-the-top.  the trick is a fluffy brush and the right undertone.  with my pink skin, i like something that is neutral to cool and the littlest bit red; this looks the most natural on me.  my current favorite is the limited edition marc jacobs coconut bronzer, but the hourglass diffused bronze light is another item i don’t ever want to be without.bb lazy girl6.jpgblush depends on the day, but when i remember it i love it.  i go between powder and cream, preferring my powders to be matte and my creams to be sheeny.  i just found the cargo blush in catalina at tj maxx ($4.99!) and it offers the perfect hint of brightness to my face while still being subtle.  if you want to have just one blush in your makeup bag, i recommend it being a somewhat neutral one that you won’t get sick of.  the it cosmetics blush in naturally pretty ticks those boxes for my complexion.  my cream blush of choice at the moment is my olio e osso balm in 02 french melon.  very sheer but glowy, sunkissed perfection that has the same healthy effect on the lips.

to be as natural as possible, highlighters have to be creamy and glowy – no shimmer in sight.  rms is a great brand to turn to for this, and my ultimate one is the champagne rose luminizer.  this is incredibly natural on my skin because of the light nude undertone and the pink reflect.  this of course will depend on your skin tone, but look for something that gives you a sweaty shine and as little actual color as possible.  a runner up in this category is the make dew pot.

// eyes & lips //

if i’m in the mood for eye shadow, it’s typically a matte brown.  my favorite is jane iredale cappucino, but i also just snagged the too faced natural matte palette (also at tj maxx – $14) which has a nice variety of soft matte tones.  i’m glad i was able to get the original packaging – i really don’t like one they just released!  if i’m doing a shimmer, it’s usually a taupe erring on the side of brown, and man do i have a wide variety of those.  my favorite right now is the chanel ombre premiere shadow in talpa, but there is definitely no need to have such an expensive shadow.  this was a birthday splurge back in january.  curled lashes and a coat of mascara are all i really need to feel complete, but i love having a little bit of a grungy eye.

my favorite mascara is the w3ll people expressionist – it’s lengthening and natural but gives me the natural oomph i want.  most days i wiggle it through the roots of my lashes for natural-looking thickness.  the new glossier mascara looks extremely similar to this, which i find interesting, but nothing will replace this dude for me.bb lazy girl7.jpglips are another category that i like to go as simple as possible with.  i love to buy fun lipsticks – almost always matte – but actually wearing them on a daily basis is not as attainable.  i’m getting better though!  my favorite matte which is now discontinued is the nars pure matte lipstick in montego bay, but i recently picked up the l’oreal colour riche matte lipstick in matte-sterpiece and it’s that perfect peachy pink nude that’s very hard to find.  & other stories cone marshmallow is another favorite that again is difficult to find – i’m always on the hunt for a subtle peachy pink.  i mentioned the laura mercier velour extreme matte in vibe in my may picks and that is just a hair darker than the l’oreal.bb lazy girl4.jpgbb lazy girl5.jpgif i’m in the mood for a red or brighter lip, i typically opt for a stain.  the body shop lip & cheek stain in pink hibiscus is a dead-on dupe for benefit benetint, without the nasty ingredient list.  and if i want some shine the body shop gloss in sugar glaze is the only colored one lip gloss i own (it’s a soft pink sheen) – otherwise i opt for the wet n wild clear gloss.bb lazy girl1.jpget voila!  a very edited but complete makeup bag.  what are your makeup must haves?  anything i’m missing?

natural products @ sephora

bb sephora naturals1.pngsephora has always had a small edit of natural products, but they just released their “clean at sephora” mark of approval.  there is a special page dedicated to clean products and all products that are formulated without the following are given a special check mark: sulfates sls and sles, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, and less than one percent of syhnthetic fragrance if any.  in honor of this pretty exciting day, peek some of my favorite natural and available at sephora products as of late.bb sephora naturals2.pngbb natural at sephora5.jpg// rms beauty //

though rose marie is admittedly a little insane on instagram, i’m a big sucker for her little pots of goodness.  i own six of her current products and love each of them equally: the champagne rose luminizer for a deliciously dewy glow on the cheekbones and eye lids, eye polish in aura for an ethereal sheen on the lids, buriti bronzer for a sunkissed flush or warm sheeny lids, lip2cheek in vogue rose (limited edition) for a peachy pink blush that melts in perfectly with the buriti bronzer, and two of the powder swift shadows in tt-73 and em-68.  i previously owned the eye polish in myth and loved it before it stopped offering any pigment, definitely due to its age and the natural ingredients.  living luminzer is a cult classic that i have had and loved, but i definitely prefer the champagne rose luminizer with its beigey and slightly pink hint of color.  i also have two limited edition trios from rms, but they are unfortunately unavailable.

// ilia //

the ilia multistick in tenderly is a product i love for all seasons.  it’s the perfect cool pink with just a hint of peach that brightens my fair skin perfectly.  i love that this never sets and remains dewy on the skin, slightly more wet-looking than the rms lip2cheeks but in a great way.  i also used the flow-thru translucent powder last summer, but the packaging was a bit finicky so i won’t be repurchasing.

// herbivore botanicals //

i have only tried two products by herbivore, which are the rose hibiscus spray and the coco rose coconut oil body polish.  the spray is decent but nothing worth the price tag, i far prefer the heritage store rosewater and glycerin for a hydrating and refreshing rose mist for a fraction of the price of the herbivore one.  the scrub, however, is absolutely amazing!  soooo refining while also being hydrating because of the coconut oil inclusion.  i got a mini size in some sephora gift set years ago, but when i would love to purchase the full size at some point.  it’s one of those products that i can’t really justify but i know i will splurge on someday when i need a little retail therapy.bb natural at sephora3.jpg// maison louis marie //

this is perhaps the most exciting brand to be carried at sephora.  i absolutely adore the no 4 bois de balincourt perfume oil (pretty much everyone does) and it’s a great alternative to le labo santal 33.  i may even like the former over the latter; it’s a little bit more focused on the sandalwood inclusion and somehow i’m on my second bottle of this.  sephora now has their oils, perfumes, and candles!  i have heard wonderful things about all the other scents they offer as well as the one i’ve tried.

// captain blankenship //

many moons ago i tried the mermaid sea salt spray and loved it and then grew to loathe it.  the scent is very peppery and i just couldn’t handle it as i made my way to the bottom of the bottle.  still, i love this brand and really did get great results from the salt spray.  i may even try it again in the near future just to see if my tastes (read: scents) have changed.  i also want to try the new mermane shampoo and conditioner, but am waiting until sephora stocks the travel sizes.

other notable brands that are new to the sephora scene are indie lee, isle of paradise (go jules!!!!), moon juice, and antonym cosmeticsgo-to skincare is an aussie brand that is also listed on the site, which would be incredible!  i love their face hero oil.  so far the link doesn’t go anywhere, but i hope that it will be available soon.bb natural at sephora4.jpg. . .

the student teaching essentials

i’ve mentioned here and there that i am now student teaching full time…and that requires a lot of supplies, let me tell you.  aside from all the actual classroom essentials, which include the catcher in the rye, my notebook, and my school laptop, i like to have a whole set of items and products that i may need.  it sounds like a lot and it sounds extreme, but i find i feel so much more confident when i feel prepared and like i have all the supplies i could ever possibly need.

has anyone ever read the children’s book, chrysanthemum?  well chrysanthemum is a little mouse that is teased at school because of her name.  to combat this, she fills her favorite jacket with all her most prized possessions to give her extra confidence.  and this is EXACTLY what i do too.bb student tch1.jpg makeup items //

bare minerals perfecting veil powder with elf retractable brush // i always carry this bare minerals powder (discontinued) that my sister gave me with my handy dandy elf brush.  i will also occasionally throw in my mineral fusion pressed powder as well, if i feel like i need a little more coverage throughout the day.  i don’t always use a powder, but i have found that something about the school environment/air/lights make me feel a lot oilier than usual.bb student tch5.jpgspot concealer // i keep my sephora concealer in 03 meringue in my bag ALWAYS.  you just never know, ok!  i’ll occasionally pop my nars creamy concealer in there too if i really need it.

mini tweezerman tweezers // you truly never know when you will need tweezers.  a stray nose hair, a makeup brush hair that won’t get off your face, a splinter…you feel me.

maybelline brow brush // i aaaalways need a little brow brush up.

clarins instant light lip comfort oil in honey // this is the lip product that has been on my lips for the past 2 months straight.  it looks like a gloss but feels like a balm and honey is the perfect, almost-clear shade.  it makes me feel put together but also hydrates the lips beautifully.  i transfer this from pocket to pocket and purse to purse, but right now it’s living at school with me.bb student tch4.jpgkorres lip butter in jasmine // another balm that gives me more oomph than just a balm does.  i love the light nudey pink shade of this and it’s one of my all time favorite lip products.  you know i love a lip product that lightens the lips just a teensy bit.  i just wish it wasn’t in a pot because i only use it right after i’ve washed my hands.

sephora coconut lip balm // my mom and i both looove this balm!  it smells amazing and feels amazing.  need i say more?  great simple balm that i always have around somewhere.

super old sephora mirror compact // for when i don’t feel like whipping out my powder.

daily essentials // bb student tch3.jpghand sanitizer // currently using bronner’s.  i don’t know how anyone can work in a school, or really anywhere, without a good hand sanitizer.  life essential, people.  i also carry wet ones hand wipes with me for more serious situations!

hand lotion // my lotion of choice is a travel size gold bond.  99 cents at target.  yes.  it can also double as a face cream if necessary as it’s not exclusively a hand cream.

hair clips and twisties // duuuuhhhhh!

mouthwash // DUH!  as a teacher i am super aware of my coffee breath.  mouthwash is an absolute non-negotiable.

the extras that i don’t really use but like to have //

tide to go, lint brush, bandaids, lactaid, imodium, tissues // every single one of these products shows you who i really am.  don’t believe what instagram shows you.  i am a grandma.bb student tch2.jpgso i know this sounds like an absolute load of products, but all my essentials fit into a glossier pink pouch and my makeup items fit into a very small mac travel bag.  i leave everything in my backpack/school bag so i don’t have to think about anything until i need it!

am i missing anything?  what products do you keep with you on a daily basis?

december & january picks

i didn’t do a december picks in 2017 in favor of my 2017 discoveries post, but there were a lot of products that i got into at the end of the year.  so december and january picks it is!  as everyone else in the world has been saying, january was a ridiculously long and grey month, so i’m looking forward to february and just 28 days.  happy happy, my dear bohemians!

skincare & haircare //

cetaphil moisturizing cream // my winter standby.  it hydrates my skin so intensely and gives me a nice glow.  it’s simple, but extremely effective and reliable.bb decjan picks6.jpgmad hippie cleansing cream // i love mad hippie and this cleanser is no exception.  i purchased this at whole foods while home for christmas and have been using it ever since.  it’s very hydrating but still cleansing, which can be a difficult balance for cleansing creams or more lotion-based cleansers.  if you have dry skin and are looking for an eco cleanser, i think you’ll enjoy this!

jordan samuel hydrate 4 oz. // you all know i love this serum, but i had to mention the new 4 oz size.  i am so pleased that jordan released this super size product.  it’s pricey but actually results in a great amount of savings.  and 1 oz for serum is just too easy to get through.  bb decjan picks5.jpgr&co cactus shampoo // this seems to be my winter hair product of choice.  i have long toted this as giving me my “summer” hair in the winter, and i still stand by that description.  texturizing and thickening, but doesn’t leave the hair sticky or clumpy.  i’m on my second bottle since my original purchase last winter!

makeup //bb decjan picks2.jpgnars radiant creamy concealer in vanilla // while i was loving the sephora full coverage concealer for half of december and half of january, i’m back to my nars creamy.  i don’t know why but this is just my favorite concealer of all time.  i usually stray when i feel like the color is oxidizing on me, but it must depend on what i wear underneath because it’s not doing that right now.  it’s just perfect for blemishes and lasts all day.  i’m sorry i leave you sometimes, my sweet.

bare minerals complexion rescue gel tint in opal // i tried this a really long time ago and hated it, but i wanted to try it out again.  and i love it!  the shade opal is perfect for my winter skin and it gives me the perfect boost of hydration and glow while the tint remains remaining sheer and perfecting on the skin.  i highly recommend this for all “tinted moisturizer is still too much” people like myself.

charlotte tilbury filmstar bronze and glow // this was my birthday splurge and i am so pleased i finally took the plunge.  the bronzer is absolutely perfect in that it’s light enough for my winter skin but can be built up when i have more color.  it sinks into the skin for an undetectable finish.  the highlighter definitely gets less use as i’m not a big highlighter person, but i have been wearing it as an eyeshadow for a bit of something.  i knew going into this purchase that i wouldn’t use the highlighter as much, so it really has been perfect for me.

w3ll people mascara // i know it seems like i’m always on the hunt for my next mascara, and i really am.  i had a sample size of this mascara so when i felt like a change from my maybelline volume blast, i knew this is where i would go.  and i must say i’m extremely impressed.  eco mascaras seem to be a tough category to perfect, but this mascara remains natural looking while lengthening and volumizing the lashes.  not a ton of volume, but really the perfect amount for me.  i’ve even gotten compliments on my lashes while wearing this!  when my sample size runs out i do think i will purchase the full size, which is saying something.bb decjan picks3.jpg  mineral fusion pressed powder in cool 1 // i know i’ve mentioned this somewhere else, but i purchased this after my alima pure pressed foundation smashed to smitherines.  and i love it!  it’s quite pricey but easy to find on sale if you do a little digging.  the powder itself is extremely finely milled so it never looks powdery on the skin at all.  it sets my concealer and t-zone without ever taking away my glow.  highly recommend if you are looking for a clean powder with lighter coverage. bb decjan picks4.jpg clarins instant light lip comfort oil in honey // this is the lip product that has been on my lips for the past 2 months straight.  it looks like a gloss but feels like a balm.  it makes me feel put together while still hydrating and treating my lips.  expensive for sure, but i love it!  the shade honey is essentially clear, but sort of warms up the lips if that makes sense.  the shades are all sheer tints, but they do have some reds and pinks if you are wanting a little bit of color.

shows, coffee, & extras //

lovesick // a great, easy to watch netflix/british series.  i am sooo sad that i’ve watched all the episodes and am not so patiently waiting for another season to be released.  lovesick is super funny and cute, but with a little touch of seriousness and reality.  check it out!

rita // another netflix show that i just happened upon.  rita is danish, but i never mind using subtitles.  this show is quite different from anything else i watch in that it is about a school and all the issues the teachers deal with.  sounds boring but i absolutely adore it.  more serious than lovesick, but not in a bad way at all.bb decjan picks1.jpg devotion by patti smith // my sister got me this book for christmas and it’s actually SIGNED BY PATTI.  i almost died, as i’m sure you can imagine.  i’ve actually already read it twice, the first time within two days of receiving it.  it’s quite different from her other works in that it is separated into three parts: the first about her creation of the story, the second being the story itself, and the third being why she writes.  it’s a beautiful gem and if you love patti you need to read it.  asap.

swell x target coffee thermos // the best thermos i’ve been able to find!  i bring coffee with me to school every day and i found my other thermos was cooling down within a few hours.  this keeps my coffee hot and delicious and, most importantly, is very easy to clean.  they have a ton of colors at target and it’s very reasonably priced compared to swell’s other products and just other coffee thermos that have good reviews.  a necessity, if you ask me!

winter skin & keeping my glow

glowy skincare favorites: alllll about moisture, hydrating ingredients, and oilsbb glow1.jpgmy skincare routine typically stays the same step-wise, but i may switch out the products i’m using from time to time.  for me, it’s all about moisturizing layers sandwiched together, and this is true for my makeup too.  i always start with a hylaronic acid serum, and the one i’ve been loving for months is the jordan samuel hydrate serum.  he just released a 4 oz. size with about $50 in savings, so i’m going to pick that up soon as i’m starting to run out.  i let this soak in typically on damp skin, either from a witch hazel toner or a hydrating rosewater spray.  next i’ve been using the s.w. basics original cream, which is an oil-based moisturizer that feels like a balm at first.  i rub this on the back of my hand to get the oils to melt, then apply to the face.  the less the better for this product – you will still get the insanely moisturizing benefits don’t worry.  after letting this sink in, but while there is still a tiny amount of product sitting on the skin, i layer on an oil.  lately i’ve been using the indie lee squalane, of course, and everyday oil, which is a mixture of lots of goodies.  this is of course my night time routine as it is quite heavy duty – in the morning i go straight in with my makeup routine because my skin is still so hydrated.

as far as glowy masks go, my two favorites are the frank body glow mask and the bioderma sensibio mask, which is a newer one to me.  you’ve heard me go on about the frank one, but it really makes your skin deliciously glowy in just a matter of minutes.  the bioderma one is my replacement for my glossier moon mask – after years of using that one i just wanted to try something different.  i do think i prefer the bioderma one.  for me, it feels like it really makes a difference for days, not just the hours after like the glossier one seems too.  both are great options, though.bb glow5.jpgglowy makeup favorites: lightweight layers & basesbb glow2.jpglike i said, i typically go straight into my makeup routine in the morning.  i’ll spray my face with a hydrating spray like the tatcha luminous dewy skin mist, which i sadly finished up after taking these pictures.  i’ll then apply my sunscreen and let that sink in for about 10 minutes if i have time.  this is a firm favorite for me, and i love that it hydrates the skin and protects me from the sun at the same time.  after that, i will apply embryolisse and first aid beauty hello fab coconut primer, sometimes mixed together and sometimes separately.  i’m more likely to use a base product now that i am at my palest and need a little boost.  these include glossier skin tint in light, vapour beauty atmosphere luminous foundation stick in 110 (the EXACT color of my skin which is incredible), and nars radiant tinted moisturizer in terre neuve are my go-to’s.  and yes, i did repurchase the nars.  after having an allergic reaction to my ilia tinted moisturizer, i decided to go back to this old favorite even though it doesn’t have a great rating on ewg.  i use so little that i can justify it!bb glow4.jpgglossier stretch concealer in light is my go to concealer for under my nose, on my chin, and around my eyes.  it is so hydrating that it doesn’t make me look extra dry, which typically happens if i conceal these areas.  if i’m not feeling any other base, i will smush a little of this on any other areas of redness – it has a very similar effect to the vapour foundation stick.  blush is also a go-to in the winter, to amp up my already cold-flushed cheeks!  usually i go for a cream one like ilia in tenderly or pixi in baby petal, but i recently picked up this nars blush in bumpy ride and love the effect.  it’s very pigmented so i apply the teeniest bit and it just livens up my entire face.  this has a very subtle sheen to it, as well.bb glow3.jpg

early morning makeup (for a minimalist)

i’ve started student teaching (EEEEEEEEEK), which requires me to commute over an hour at 6 am.  it’s truly not that bad, but it requires me to be very organized the night before and pretty quick in the morning.  after a little experimentation, i’ve got my makeup routine down pat, and i knew you would all want to see it 😉bb early am1.jpgas fall is thankfully making its presence known, i’ve gone back to my layering technique to keep my skin fresh and hydrated.  after using my clinique mineral sunscreen, i’ve been putting generous mix of embryolisse and first aid beauty coconut primer all over my face and neck.  i haven’t been using any base products cause i truly can’t be bothered, so i pop a little glossier stretch concealer in light on any areas that might be a little red or discolored.  sephora bright future concealer in meringue covers up the blemishes that somehow haven’t been too bad.

while letting all that moisture sink into the skin, i curl my lashes with the surratt curlers and apply a light coat of mascara – either pacifica stellar gaze (back to this love!) in supernova (black) or covergirl lash blast volume in black/brown.  then i brush up my brows with a spoolie and pop on a little maybelline clear mascara to keep them in place.

back to the face and here’s where it changes depending on my mood.  after applying a light layer of alima pure pressed powder foundation in macadamia – keeps my skin glowy but not shiny and offers the perfect amount of light coverage, i either go in with blush or bronzer.  for bronzer i’m still loving the hourglass diffused bronze light and for blush i’ve been reaching for the pixi multibalm in baby petal.  add a little rms living luminizer and the face is done!bb early am2.jpgfor lips it’s usually lip balm, but sometimes i’ll do a little bit of the burt’s bees lipstick in nile nude.  it’s the PERFECT neutral nude that lightens the lips up in a healthy, juicy way.  very moisturizing and even a minimalist like me can enjoy it daily.

so that’s that!  if i have an extra second i’ll spritz my face with some rosewater or some sort of hydrosol.  basically my aesthetic here is to be fresh-faced and put together, but simple and clean.  what’s your go-to work makeup routine?

beauty @ mango

i was perusing the jewelry on the mango us site the other day and couldn’t get over how amazing the models look.  think healthy, glowing skin, upward brushed brows, curled lashes, and neutral lips, with the exception of that pop of red.  i love the simplicity, the lack of mascara, and how clean and bright the models look.  the simplicity of the makeup and color palette is juxtaposed beautifully against the intensity of the jewelry.Screen Shot 2017-08-13 at 5.09.21 PM.pngScreen Shot 2017-08-13 at 5.06.31 PM.pngScreen Shot 2017-08-13 at 5.08.22 PM.pngScreen Shot 2017-08-13 at 5.08.33 PM.pngScreen Shot 2017-08-13 at 5.08.49 PM.pngimages via mango
