beauty layout favorites

there is something so beautiful about all those little bottles and pots, brushes and compacts, lined up on a vanity or in a cabinet – the “top shelf” if you will.  it’s probably the main reason i buy beauty products if i’m honest.  my favorite sites for spying on peoples’ beauty routines/collections are the file, into the gloss, and occasionally the free people and urban outfitters blogs.  also i loooove it when fashion bloggers share their favorite products.  that’s probably my most favorite thing they post!waiting+for+saturday+-+wfs+shop+october.jpgDSCF2012.jpg51de2ed774c5b60bca000c20._s.fit_w.1000_h.1000_.JPEGSunday Riley Juno Hydoactive Cellular Face Oil.IMG_4048.jpgIMG_4189-760x507.jpgimg.jpglos angeles apartment tour_9.JPGtumblr_nqv9ebQYXf1qdq5dlo1_1280.jpgDSC72231-_7601.jpgthe file, into the gloss, fashion me now, that’s chic, the coveteur, waiting for saturday

nightstand essentials

7e351832-24f2-47f5-a27a-0455079d2c90it took me a while to realize, but i’ve gotten into a nice nightly routine thanks to some go-to products sitting on my nightstand:

nuxe reve de miel lip balm // honestly the best lip balm i’ve ever tried, and i’ve tried pretty much everything (it might even be better than my beloved dior creme de rose)

soap&glory hand food hand lotion // the above description applies for this guy too

vaseline // i’ve been dealing with extremely dry, sensitive, painful eyelids due to some new acne cream and putting vaseline on before bed is making a major difference (i have a smallish container with a snap-on lid which is nice)

nivea extended moisture body lotion // i’m the worst about body lotion in the winter, but the fact that this one is great and that it’s next to my bed is helping

other nightstand essentials:

my current read // ham on rye, bukowski

a notebook // currently a small rollbahn

a pen // or 2, or 500 as the case may be

a small dish // for rings, earrings, the odd hair twistie, etc., i’m using a really big shell (sounds weird but is pretty perfect)
