new from nars: liquid blush

when i saw the new orgasm liquid blush on nars’ instagram, you best believe i immediately bought it.  i have never actually tried nars orgasm, but i know that it’s the perfect peachy pink blush for every person who wears it.  so when i saw this new formula, i was sold.  i love cream blushes and haven’t experienced many liquid ones, but if someone’s going to do it right it’s nars.bb nars orgasm liquid blush1.jpgnow this is a bit shimmery which takes some getting used to, but the formula, pigmentation, and color are all gorgeous.  i also don’t find the shimmer to be as noticeable on the cheeks throughout the day as i expected it to be.  this formula is unique to me because it completely dries on the cheeks, so it doesn’t leave any sheen or dew besides what the shimmer provides.  though i usually like my cream/liquid products to remain dewy, this is a nice feature for oily skinned people and for using this in the summer.  i’m a face sweater, very unfortunately, so it will be nice to know that this will stay put on my face all day even through heat and humidity.

you need just a little dot to get that perfect flush on the cheeks, and i have been using my fingers and then a small stippling blush to blend everything out completely.  the color gives that slightly-sunburned effect, especially when you take a little bit over the bridge of the nose.  i’m sure you could build this up for a more intense look but i’m all about subtle makeup, as you all know by now!  i have only worn this one or two times, but i am absolutely smitten and look forward to wearing this all summer long.  bb nars orgasm liquid blush2.jpg

white vans // i just got new white supergas last summer, but for whatever reason i’m not feeling them for spring as much as usual.  i’m a total vans girl, so i’m considering either the all white authentic ($50) or the all white old skool ($55).  leaning towards the old skool.

all natural eye cream // ok, call me crazy, but i think i’m seeing some major eye wrinkles happening.  and not like crow’s feet smile lines.  like…under my eye bag wrinkles.  really i saw a picture of myself and there was either a shadow or a wrinkle present, but i’m not taking any chances.  so i’m looking for an all natural eye cream and am considering either the skinowl eye+ ($46) or the youth to the people eye cream ($35, insert really long name here).  i actually tried youth to the people’s face wash and moisturizer when they first came out and returned them to sephora.  they weren’t bad products by any means but they were really expensive and not worth it, in my opinion.  the eye cream, however, sounds right up my alley and not too badly priced.  let me know if you have any opinions on these.

kathleen whitaker gold staple studs // i used to have a pair of similar earrings but lost one of them, so i occasionally put the other in my second piercing.  but the kathleen whitaker pair is so beautiful and i just want them ok!!!!!  sadly they are ridiculously expensive and sold separately which really irritates me ($40 each), so they may remain on the wishlist indefinitely.

baggu leather tote in saddle // ($180 – these have definitely gone up in price.  weren’t they $160 before?!) ok this is a purchase that is definitely happening in the near future.  i love all things baggu; the leather is ridiculous soft and luscious and well made.  i actually had one of their totes in blue, but i wasn’t crazy on the color so i eventually sold it on ebay.  the saddle is such a classic color and it will look amazing as it gets worn in and beat up.

tell me, my shopping instigators, what’s on your wishlist?

favorite of the day: rms nail polish in beloved

Screen Shot 2016-08-19 at 8.22.41 AM.pngif you follow me on instagram (shameless plug: @babybohemian), you may have seen that i posted the above picture last night.  i got the rms nail polish in beloved the other day and tried it out for the first time last night; i thought i would go into a little more detail today!

rms nail polishes retail for $15 and are a 6-free formula, cruelty free, and vegan.  they are formulated without petrochemicals, parabens, dpb, tphp, toluene, camphor, xylene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and animal products (specific info from rmsbeauty.com).  the color range is curated but cool, they have very different shades than what you usually see at the drugstore or sephora.

first things first, i always use my opi nail envy as my base coat.  i have both the original and the matte, so really whichever one i can find first is what i use.  last night it was the matte, which i find has a nice bit of grip to it and sticks to the nail polish quite well.

beloved is a gorgeous red with warm, orangey undertones.  it’s not too orange, as i’m not a fan of that, but it’s the perfect summery bright red.  i love how a red can really be a neutral all year long.  the formula on this is amazing – one average coat was perfectly opaque, but i did two just for luck and lasting power.  the brush is fine, not amazing.  it’s similar to an essie brush, thin and relatively long.  i was worried about the larger top on this but it was easy to hold and work with.  and the packaging is probably my favorite of any nail polish!

to top it off i used my usual nails inc 45 second top coat with kensington caviar.  i bought this as a bit of a splurge last year ($15)and have been using it consistently to get my money’s worth, but i really love it.  true to claims it dries in 45 seconds and is very protective and long lasting.

and that’s it!  i don’t know about lasting power as of yet.  nail polishes usually last 3-4 days on me before chipping if i’m lucky, so we’ll see how this stands up to that average.  if it goes well, i am definitely going to purchase more shades, even with the high price tag of $15 a bottle.

the glowy products you need

IMG_4220.jpgIMG_4221.jpgIMG_4234.jpgok you don’t actually need them, but you are going to feel like you do.  by the way, none of these products leave my face feeling like i have a much of creams on it.  they sink in within minutes and stay all day, especially with a little rosewater or hydrosol on top!  you could even dust the littlest bit of powder to set but not take away all the glow – which i definitely do during the summer months.  anyway:

glossier perfecting skin tint // i’ve mentioned it a hundred times, along with everyone else on the internet.  just the perfect skin product, seriously.  it makes my skin look better, makes me feel better.  just perfects the skin the littlest bit while looking 100% natural.  the perfect base even if you have to conceal a lot on top of it.  i apply it either with my hands or a damp beauty blender.  i use the medium shade in the summer.

tata harper very bronzing // the cream bronzer that dreams are made of.  i picked this up on a whim because i was going to purchase the rms buriti bronzer but i’m glad i got this instead!  it’s completely matte and seriously the perfect bronzing shade.  it’s also meant to be used as contour, but i don’t really do that so i just put it the places i would put bronzer.  i apply it with my fingers and then buff it out a little bit with a brush.  i’m totally converted and leaving my powder bronzers in the…dust hehe.

tata harper lip and cheek in very charming // you might remember i bought this on my most recent new york trip.  very charming is a blue-toned pink shade that looks pretty deep when you first put it on but blends out to the perfect little flush of color.  like the very bronzing it is completely matte and blends out easily and beautifully, leaving just a hint of dew.

rms living luminizer // my first and only highlighting product.  the living luminizer is a beautiful icy shimmer that transforms into pure dew and light onto the skin.  very subtle and just makes me feel a little glowier.  tata harper also does a similar product called very luminizing which i might have to try when i finish this one up (or sooner since this pot will probably last me for years).

tell me, what are your glowy skin staples?
